Psst costs $5.99, about ₹499 in India, once. Here is the reasoning, and how the licence works without an account.
A local app has no running cost
Subscriptions exist to cover servers. Psst has none. The model runs on your Mac, the files are on your Mac, and if you use a cloud engine you bring your own key. There is nothing for us to meter, so there is nothing to bill monthly.
How the licence works
You buy on the page. Dodo Payments handles the card, UPI or Apple Pay and the tax, and emails you a licence key. In Psst, open Settings, paste the key, press Activate. The app checks it once, stores the result in your Keychain, and never checks again. You can be offline forever after. No account, no sign-in, no password to forget.
Seven days first
Download it, use the whole app for a week. Nothing is crippled and nothing nags. On day eight, Listen shows a Buy button. If it did not earn its place on your desk, delete it.
Updates
Updates come through the app and are included. If a future version is a different product, it will be a different product; the one you bought keeps working.
Why this price
Because it is a small tool that does one thing well, and a small price is the honest price for that. It should be an easy yes for anyone who talks more than they type.
